ENGLAND GREEN & ENGLAND GREY

£10.00

Recorded on Pete Townshend's barge studio in London, this beautiful work deals with topics such as dementia, with a deep and moving commentary on the subject Counting My Footsteps To You; it commemorates the centenary of WW1, with an unromanticised account of the story of Flora Sandes (the only woman to fight in that war); it tells the tale of the bandleader and his violin both lost in the Titanic disaster, The Band Played Sweet Marie; and it delivers an anthem for our times: England Green and England Grey.

The recording equipment and instruments, including several of Pete's legendary guitars - which were also made available to me - are as good as you can get anywhere in the world, as are the musicians who joined me, both the tried and tested cream of Rhythm duos, Roy Dodds & Simon Edwards and the new additions of the brilliant accordion and piano player Mike Cosgrave, the amazing Phil Henry on Dobro & one of the finest fiddle players anywhere, Chris Haigh. Jess Vincent added her gorgeous and distinctive vocals.
